Two years ago, we opened Postino Grant, a few blocks away from the University of Arizona campus in Tucson. In the heart of a pandemic, this store was birthed into an uphill battle that affected our global communities as well as the restaurant industry.

The Medoza Social is part of an event series we host at one of our Postino locations. This wine sippin’ event consisted of 5 Argentina winemakers (a.k.a. badasses) from Bodega Casarena and Vine Connections. We hung out at Postino Arcadia, noshed on snacks and chatted about wine… and drank it, of course! 

REDWOOD ALLEY

A lush and medium-full body of blueberry skin, salted plums and black tea. This unique wine consists of Carginan, Syrah and Valdiguie all from red-clay soil vineyards in Mendocino County. Redwood Alley closely replicates what type of wine would be passed around in the 1940’s, with its natural winemaking that was both harvested and made by hand! 

WILD THANG

This wine is wildly complex, deep, earthy, satisfying and the quintessential expression of Arizona Terroir. Mourvedre is a varietal whose wines can express some complex meaty, gamey, peppery notes…the French call these aromas ‘Animal’. Pulling together 5 of the finest Arizona Vineyards, channeling the old-world but not leaving behind the newest of vinous worlds – our own Arizona.

Think aromas of golden apple and lime blossoms. And tasting notes that wash your palette with lemon curds, orange marmalade and minerality. We’ve paired up with Lioco to bring you this Chardonnay that is nothing like what you’d expect. Crisp, fresh and giving you feels of that brilliant California sun!

Our Beverage Managers had the privilege of experiencing a wine tasting led by German wine legend, Ernst Loosen.  Ernst is the owner of wine producer Weingut Dr. Loosen, located outside Bernkastel in the Mosel wine region.  Producing over 70,000 bottles annually, he is one of the largest producers in the Mosel region.
